The NYTimes critics never understood Bausch's importance.  Instead they focused on parts of her work that they didn't like, thus missing the entire revolutionary impact.  Joining of art forms has met with such resistance.  All ego and territoriality.  I could write a book about Bausch and several people have, but not here in the US.
